Our wonderful friends (Jenny, Ben, Gabe and Lyra) threw us a baby shower in Lincoln on Saturday. Of course, Jenny Tyner went all out. Each food and activity was centered around a children's book. For example, look at the picture below.
The cheese went with the book "The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales"; the green deviled eggs went with the classic "Green Eggs and Ham"; "Where the Wild Things Are" was accompanied by a wild rice dish (which was amazing!); and a delicious platter of cookies was laid out in from of "If You Give A Mouse A Cookie".
The room was decorated perfectly with the banners made from the "E" section of a dictionary. Jenny let us take the banners home and we are going to hang them in Eliza's room. The bassinet in the corner was a filled with presents, and we learned at the end of the party, the bassinet itself was a present. We are truly blessed to have such great friends in Lincoln!
On a bookcase in the same room, she included the book "Are You My Mother?" and "Hop on Pop" with pictures of Michael and I.
Finally, once most of the guests were gone, we were able to take a picture with the hosts of the party. Thank you so much Tyners for a great party!
