Michael and I decided to induce labor since, as of her due date, I had not started to dilate. We had an appointment to be at Saint Elizabeth hospital at 7:30 pm on Monday, March 25th. On our way to the hospital, they called and asked if we could go to dinner and come in a bit later, as they had a rush of unscheduled deliveries. Michael, my mom, sister, father-in-law and I decided to eat at Olive Garden. We had a great time, and Michael and I got a free dessert out of the deal :) Toward the end of dinner, the hospital called and said we could come in at 9:30.
We got to the hospital and filled out the appropriate paperwork. At 10:30, they gave me Cervadill which strarts contractions and softens the cervix. At 6 am on Tuesday, I hadn't dilated yet and they began the Pitocin. Shortly after getting the medicine, I dilated to 1 cm and they broke my water at 12:30 pm. From there, nothing else happened. All day, they upped my Pitocin, by I failed to progress pass a 1 because I have a [insert medical term I can't remember] on my cervix. By 3:30 am on Wednesday morning, the nurse and Dr. Bowers suggested we do a C-section because the baby was showing stress. By 4 am, I was being prepped for the C-section, and our little angel was born at 4:27 am.
Look at those long legs and fingers! Daddy is standing on her right making sure everything is ok. After recover, we were taken to our room and got some much needed sleep (and pain medication). What a miracle!
She is absolutely beautiful <3
