Last Honey-do (For Now)

Since Michael has been great about Honey-Do's, I decided that it's time for a break. This will be the last Honey-Do project before the baby is born. Since we have tons of things that we want to keep around, but want them to be organized, I found this project on Pinterest (surprise!). I bought totes, and we already had some, to organize miscellaneous items. So, Michael got to work.

These shelves are 2 feet deep and 8 feet long. There are going to be a total of 3 shelves, 2 feet apart.

And the finished project looks like this! With the help of my handy-dandy label maker, we know exactly where everything is :)

He also built some additional shelves so that I can put small kitchen appliances that we don't use all the time. Happy wife!

Burp Cloths

For my baby shower in Texas, my mother-in-law gave me a pack on cloth diapers. I noticed on the package that it said ideal for burping. Since I am running low on burp cloths right now, I thought I will just use the cloth diapers as burp cloths since I have inserts that go in all of the cloth diapers that we will be using. Every time I look at them though, I feel that they are boring. The local craft store was running a 50% off sale on ribbon, so I decided to dress them up a bit.

I layed the cloth diaper out and pinned the ribbon on.

I decided to save 4 of the cloth diapers as extra liners for overnight diapers and decorated 6 with the ribbon.

25 Days to Go!

So here is the latest ultrasound picture that we got at our appointment. She has been sleeping quite a bit lately. I am encouraged by Old Wives' Tales that say the baby starts sleeping more 2 weeks before they are due. This means that Baby Cleveland may come a little early, which I would not be sad about at this point :) Many people (my mom especially) has been asking for another picture of me. I have been teasing that I was going to get a cart to put my belly on. Aside from some swelling in my hands and feet and normal aches and pains, things are going very well.

Nursery Additions

The newest addition to the nursery is the rainbow mobile. I was hoping that I could pull in some color from the rug and the books on the other wall. I am playing with the idea of painting the lamp shade in the corner. We'll see if I can think of a cute idea.

Michael was able to paint the bookshelf on his last days off. I am getting purple and grey baskets to put on the shelves to hold the tons of baby stuff we already have.

And, the last thing, is to get a changing pad for the top of her dresser. I hope to find a cute cover that will go with the room.

4 Weeks, 3 Days

Michael and I had another doctor appointment yesterday, and the doctor always seems so pleased with the baby's progress. She was sleeping yesterday, which she has been doing much more of lately. I know that the 4-D ultrasound pictures are somewhat creepy, and I've been told they do not actually look like the baby, but I think this is really neat! It looks like she is going to have some fat little cheeks :) From here on out, I see Dr. Bowers every week and she said to be ready.

Rain Gutter Bookshelves

Thanks to Pinterest (which I am sure Michael would love to block on my computer because it adds to the "Honey Do" list), we found the idea to make book shelves out of rain gutters. My darling husband put them up tonight and I think it looks fantastic! Above you see him resting after his hard work :) Below are before and after pictures.

Painting the Baby's Room

I debated a long time on what I wanted the nursery to look like. Surprise, Surprise, I found an idea on Pinterest. After adapting it a bit, this is what Michael and I came up with. Only a few more projects left and we will be ready: crib, bookshelves, stock up on sleep (that works, right?)!
